It highlights the science and the activities of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other organizations promoting environmental stewardship. The games predominately target elementary and middle school students and include games such as connect the dots, mix and match, scavenger hunts, puzzles, and more. However, the website does include more challenging games, such as Cloud Lab that requires students to use real NASA data to identify clouds and investigate the clouds’ role in severe storms.
Geography4Kids has an introduction to earth sciences and in-depth information on topics around the Earth's structure, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere. Lessons, activities, and quizzes can be modified and incorporated into K-12 classrooms as a resource for students of all ages by providing simple explanations of geography concepts. To fund Cosmos4Kids, some webpages contain advertisements.
Girlstart for Educators helps elementary and middle school educators empower girls in STEM. Here you will find free curriculum, formal and informal STEM best practices resources, effective messaging tips, collaboration opportunities, and more. The site also offers an e-mail newsletter with quarterly tips and resources on engaging girls in STEM.
Gizmos are interactive math and science simulations for grades 3-12. A free account is needed to access a rotating set of free Gizmos; to access the full library, a paid account is required.
Go Science Kids
Go Science Kids provides STEM-focused hands-on activities and experiments for kids 1–9 years old. Materials include information on chemistry, physics, edible science, and science with household items. Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary is one of the largest near-shore "live-bottom" reefs in the southeastern United States. It is just one of 14 marine protected areas that make up the National Marine Sanctuary System and is governed by the National Marine Sanctuaries Act. Gray’s Reef has converted marine science research into information for educators. The information includes K-12 classroom activities, onsite educational workshops, in-class presentations, and education publications.
